q  Worker has read operator’s manuals and related safe work procedures before using this equipment.

q  Worker has minimum Class 3 Drivers license with Air Brake Endorsement.

q  Worker is able to perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections.

q  Worker knows appropriate PPE to use. * cut resistant gloves indicated in the SWP

q  Worker acknowledges that they must not operate this equipment if fatigued or otherwise impaired.

q  Worker has seen a live demonstration of these procedures.

q  Worker can explain hazards and controls in the operation of the Shu-Pak Side Loading refuse truck and automated arm.

q  Worker can explain and demonstrate manufacturer’s lockout/tagout procedures and when to use them.

q  Worker demonstrates ability to safely load solid waste manually into hopper.

q  Worker demonstrates ability to safely load solid waste with automated arm into hopper.

q  Worker demonstrates care when maneuvering around obstacles and backing up.

q  Worker demonstrates ability to maintain appropriate speeds during solid waste collection.

q  Worker demonstrates ability to safely dump and clean out truck hopper.

q  Worker demonstrates overall competency in the operation of the Shu-Pak truck and automated arm.
