SC 10F Scarifier - Sidewalk Grinder

If not familiar with the use of this equipment refer to the user manual and obtain practical instruction from a competent operator or supervisor. Do not operate without thorough training or unless under the direct supervision of an instructor. Do not operate if safety features are missing or not working appropriately.
Caution:
Never tilt the unit back on handle! Oil will flow into the cylinder head and could severely damage the motor!
Background:
The SC 10 F Scarifier is used to remove road markings and grind side walk surfaces.
Hazards:
- Silica Dust
- Noise
- Eye injury

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Required:
- CSA approved Safety footwear
- Appropriate Gloves
- Hearing Protection
- High Visibility Apparel
- N95 or Half Mask Respirator (Local Exhaust Ventilation Must be used as well)
- Eye Protection
- Industrial Vacuum with Hepa Filter
Pre Set-Up:
- Check Scarifier for any obvious loose parts
- Check oil and fluid levels
- Set-Up any Traffic control as needed
- Set-Up industrial vacuum with Hepa filter
Scarifier Procedure
- Start Engine
- Attach Industrial vacuum with Hepa Filter and turn on vacuum
- Lower drum on Scarifier with lever by lifting black handle up and push forward. For fine tuning, turn black handle clockwise
- With a back and forth or a sweeping motion, grind sidewalk to desired depth.
- To stop grinding, lift up on black knob and pull back on lever until you reach highest position.
- Turn Off Engine
Post Procedure
- Vacuum ground debris with appropriate vacuum
- Dust off Scarifier using compressor in a safe environment – wear appropriate PPE.
Cleaning Vacuum Procedure
- Wear respiratory protection (Half Mask Respirator)
- Empty canister into appropriate waste container
- Follow manufacturer’s instructions for cleaning Hepa Filter
